Meet our Peer Mentors
Zadie Diniz
My name is Zadie Diniz (she/her), and I am a member of the class of 2028 from Vero Beach, FL! I am double majoring in Psychology & TAPS and minoring in Education in hopes to pursue a career in the development of educational curriculum. Outside of school, I am on the lightweight rowing team, and I also play violin in the Mariachi band. I have been working for Academic Advising since June 2025, was a co-lead for Frosh 101, and am always helping my friends with their course planning. My love for all of those experiences pushed me to apply for this job, so that I can support as many new students as possible in their academic journeys!
Basel AlKanjo
My name is Basel AlKanjo and I am a junior at Stanford studying Biology and Computer Science, with interests at the intersection of computation, physics, and biological systems. I am originally from Syria, and value supportive and inclusive learning environments. I understand how overwhelming the transition to college can feel, especially when navigating new academic and social spaces. Outside of academics, I enjoy swimming and archery and work as a tutor for math, physics, and biology, where I focus on helping students build intuition and confidence in problem solving. As a peer mentor, I hope to help students explore campus resources, provide thoughtful support and advice, and create a welcoming environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and finding their place.
Jamie JudahBram
My name is Jamie JudahBram (she/her), and I am a Ghanaian American; my parents are Ghanaian immigrants, and I was born in Chicago. I am proud to be part of the class of 2027, pursuing Human Biology B.S. Candidate, Data Science minor, and Notation of Science Communication "mini minor." I love any discussion or class that involves writing, history, biochemistry, medicine, qualitative research, and cultural analysis of any form of media. Outside classes, I am partial to poetry, long video essays, sitcoms, and I am currently teaching myself how to embroider and bake. I am excited to be a peer mentor as I am passionate about supporting people, informally or professionally. I have worked or am currently working as a teaching assistant, math tutor, college prep coach, basketball referee, or camp counselor for students of various backgrounds, personalities, and ages. It is most meaningful for me to work alongside the person that I am helping to support and for us to work together to determine the skills and next steps needed for their success. I am looking forward to continuing that passion of mine with the incoming frosh class of Stanford University.
Princess Ochweri
Hi everyone! My name is Princess Ochweri (she/her), and I’m a junior from Columbia, South Carolina, studying Biology on the pre-med track, with a strong interest in health policy. I really care about public service and doing hands-on work in the community. Outside of school, I love listening to and talking about music, watching movies, and baking or cooking whenever I get the chance. On campus, I’m a Resident Assistant, an ASSU Senator, and I’m involved in Stanford Women in Politics and Society of Black Scientists and Engineers. I’m always happy to talk about any of those, hear about what you’re into, or just chat about life at Stanford! I chose to become a peer mentor because mentorship has played an important role in my own experience at Stanford. I’ve really valued the guidance and support I’ve received, and I’m excited for the opportunity to offer that same sense of support and connection to others. I cannot wait to meet you all!
Tia Marie Evans
My name is Tia Marie Evans (she/her) and I am a current junior from Pearland, Texas! I study Human Biology on a premedical track, and otherwise have academic interests in English and ethics as well. I love reading modern classics, cooking, painting, running (my first ever marathon was this spring!) and getting to know the vibrant people of this campus. That includes you! I wanted to become a peer mentor as an avenue to help other students navigate their academic potential at Stanford, and to further cultivate my passion for mentorship and service. Zareef Shafquat
Hello! My name is Zareef Shafquat. My pronouns are he/him, and I am a sophomore from Bangladesh studying Computer Science at Stanford. I am particularly interested in AI, robotics, and social-impact startups. Outside of academics, I enjoy working on personal hobby projects, spending time with friends, and hiking the Stanford Dish. I am excited to be a peer mentor because I know how overwhelming the transition to Stanford can feel, especially coming from a different background and from the other side of the world quite literally, and I hope to support frosh in finding their footing, building confidence, and making the most of their experience here at Stanford.
